Market Summary for the Week of November 18 - November 22, 2019

by Kelsey Berger, Associate Manager of Analytics

Synopsis of Last Week's Energy Markets

Crude prices edged up slightly to finish the week at 0.1% change despite days of fluctuations on mixed signals regarding trade talks between the US and China. Domestic crude inventories increased to four-month highs, though stocks at the primary storage hub declined. Meanwhile, natural gas prices declined, though they buoyed up at the end of the week due to greater than expected inventory withdrawals. Milder conditions were expected early last week after a mid-November cold snap, but forecasts now indicate early December could return to below average temperatures.
