Synopsis of Last Week's Energy Markets

Crude oil rose for a second week in a row; prices have been generally trending upward since April 1. Tensions between Ukraine and Russia bolstered prices, as did a drop in crude supplies at Cushing, Oklahoma. Natural gas saw a 20-cent jump to a seven-week high of $4.741 per MMBtu on Thursday, as the second injection of the season was again lower than predicted, at 24 Bcf for the week ended April 11.
