Account Management/Field Analyst/Business Development Associate - Western MA/Eastern NY

The Account Management/Field Analyst/Business Development Associate will be responsible for assisting senior Account Managers with all aspects of the customer management, energy analysis and new business development process. There is much room for growth in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES of Account Management/Field Analyst/Business Development

  • Work closely with senior Account Managers on all aspects of client deliverables and attend customer meetings.
  • Assist Business Development Team with everything from daily tasks to strategic initiatives.
  • Work with senior Account Managers to model energy usage and cost data & evaluate complex onsite energy projects for the purpose of presenting conclusions to customers
  • Respond and communicate with customers via phone, email and meetings
  • Development of skills for managing a portfolio of customers and prospects

Requirements:

  • A passion for learning and interest in the energy sector.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Strong in-person, phone and written customer communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.
  • Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications;
  • Must be able to travel, primarily in southern New England and New York. Residence in Massachusetts, Connecticut or eastern New York a plus, but not a requirement.

Inside Sales Account Manager

Competitive Energy Services (CES) is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Account Manager to support two senior level Account Managers and their teams in managing a portfolio of Client accounts. This position also requires extensive Client communication and contract management ensuring that CES meets Client expectations in the renewal and post-contract processes.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support two senior level Account Managers and their teams by managing all aspects of the renewal process for an assigned list of accounts. Duties include contacting the Client, requesting pricing, reviewing pricing with the Client and closing the renewal contract. Requires frequent written and verbal communication with clients, senior level Account Managers, Pricing Team and Energy Suppliers. Must be comfortable communicating with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the company.
  • Assist Account Management team by generating renewal reports, monitoring renewal dates, prioritizing contract renewals and coordinating pricing requests with the Pricing Team. Requires communicating pricing results, including financial impacts and recommendations, to Clients.
  • Manage a select group of aggregated accounts. Initiate and manage a tracking system to report status of all clients within the aggregation including status of pricings, contracts, and renewal dates. Work with participating Clients to close renewal contracts in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Primary contact for Clients with post-contract issues including billing and enrollment issues. Review invoices for accuracy, provide reconciliation, and work with suppliers and utilities to resolve. Initiate and manage a tracking system to report status of post-contract issues to Account Managers.
  • Other projects and assignments as needed

Requirements

  • College degree
  • 4+ years experience in Procurement or Account Management
  • Experience in the Energy field is preferred.
  • Must be detailed, organized and skillful at managing multiple assignments in varying stages of completion
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, with very strong Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Strong management, judgment, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Creative and analytical thinker
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Must exhibit an ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be comfortable collaborating with individuals at all levels within the company

GENERAL DUTIES

Initial responsibilities include the following:

• Modeling of gas and electric consumption and utility rate tariffs.

• Forecasting customer budgets and preparing energy use projections.

• Reviewing utility and supplier invoices.

• Energy bid administration as needed.

• Creation and management of spreadsheets with market pricing and customer usage data.

• Assistance in evaluation of energy markets and preparation of weekly client newsletter.

• Assisting in fuel-switching analysis.

• Assisting in the design and implementation of fuel arbitrage strategies.

• Preparation of reports, presentations and other client deliverables.

• Acting as a point of contact for clients and competitive energy suppliers.

• Greenhouse gas accounting and sustainability planning.

 

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, engineering, math, computer science, economics, or other technical undergraduate programs.

• Energy industry experience is a plus, but not required.

• Excellent spreadsheet skills.

• Strong writing skills.

• Programming and database management is a plus.

• Creative and analytical thinker with attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize and manage workload with flexibility.
